There’s just over two weeks left before WWDC 2025. While insiders like Mark Gurman tend to save a few leaks as last-minute tidbits before the big event, it might be safe to say that there has been enough smoke to give us a good idea of what to expect. Here’s what’s coming. more…...
At CES 2025, MacPaw unveiled Eney, an all new AI-powered companion that’ll complete tasks for you. It taps into the plethora of apps available on Setapp, and serves as an assistant of sorts. One of the best things that has happened to HomeKit in the past few years is the Matter standard. It is far from perfect, but it has opened the door (pun intended) for a new crop of accessories that would have never supported Apple’s smart home platform before. SwitchBot is a great example. The company started out with clever smart home products like the , but has leaned hard into Matter recently, and it is paying off. It’s new Lock Ultra and combo brings serious upgrades and, more importantly, native HomeKit compatibility thanks to Matter support. more…...
One of my favorite product lines Nomad has made over the years is their slim power adapters. They started with their 35W slim charger, which brought fast iPhone charging in this ultra-slim form factor. Then they released their 65W version that added a secondary port and was tailored to customers needing more juice. Now, they have finally launched their 100W slim power adapter for those who need to charge their larger machines on the go. Here is what you need to know. more…...
Apple login credentials were among a massive database of 184 million records found sitting unprotected on a web server. Other logins included Facebook, Google, Instagram, Microsoft, and PayPal. A lost dog has been reunited with its owner thanks to an AirTag attached to its collar – but the story also serves as a reminder to monitor the battery levels of our tags. After my last WiFi-enabled smart scale broke and refused to connect to the Internet anymore, I sought something simpler and cheaper to replace it. The old scale had all sorts of fancy service integrations that I never used. I just wanted something that would track my weight and report the measurements to the Health app on my iPhone. The is what I landed on and I’m very happy with it — and it’s pretty cheap too. Here’s how it works … more…...

In their comprehensive report about the bombshell acquisition of Jony Ive’s AI startup by OpenAI, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and Shirin Ghaffary said OpenAI’s CEO believed Apple’s co-founder would have been “‘damn proud’ of Ive’s latest move”. He may be right. more…...
Among all of the Apple Intelligence features announced at WWDC24 last summer, notification summaries are likely one of the more controversial ones. Users have noticed a number of inaccurate summaries, which has resulted in Apple tweaking the design of notification summaries, as well as disabling it for news stories. While these summaries will never be absolutely perfect, there is one way Apple could improve the quality and accuracy of them, and I’d like to see them take this idea into consideration for iOS 19. more…...
